Everbody is welcome to attend the course, regardless of experience. However, having one or more of the following certifications is highly recommended for those who intend to take the SAFe® 5 Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) certification exam:
- SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) certification
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
- Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification

IS THERE ANY COST AND DEADLINE TO TAKE THE OFFICAL EXAM?
The first exam attempt is included as part of the course registration fee, if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion. Each retake costs $50.
Couldn't take the certification test in time? Don't worry, as from 2022 Scaled Agile will offer a feature to extend the deadline for taking the test:
1. Access your profile at Scaled Agile
2. Go to the MY LEARNING tab
3. Click on the button EXTEND TIME 2 WEEKS (extend the period for another 15 days) .
This button will only be available for another 30 days from the end of the original term, and the 15-day extension period will start counting from the click on the “EXTEND TIME 2 WEEKS” button.
HOW MANY QUESTIONS ARE THERE ON THE CERTIFICATION EXAM?
There are a total of 45 multiple choice questions to be answered within 90 minutes. Approval will be gained by answering 80% of the answers correctly.
HOW MANY ATTEMPTS DO I HAVE TO PASS THE EXAM?
Only the first exam attempt is included as part of the course registration fee and, if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion. The second attempt exam (first retake) can be made immediately after the first attempt. A third attempt requires a 10-day wait and a fourth attempt requires a 30-day wait.
HOW DO I GET CERTIFICATION?
The following the steps are involved in the certification process:
- Step I - The first step in becoming a SAFe certified professional is to participate in the official Scaled Agile course, attending at least 75% of the course in order to be eligible for the exam.
- Step II: Pass the official test presented by Scaled Agile
IS THERE A SAMPLE TEST THAT CAN BE DONE BEFORE THE OFFICIAL EXAM?
To access your practice test and Learning Plan, complete these steps:
- Attend a course, after which you will receive an email containing your log-in to the SAFe® Community Platform
- Log-in to SAFe Studio
- Click Learn > My Learning in the top navigation menu
- Go to the In Progress sub-tab
- Select the Learning Plan tile for your course
- Click on the blue launch buttons to guide you through the Learning Plan
- Complete the mandatory feedback survey to proceed to the practice test
- Locate the Practice Test section and below you will find the practice test, then click the blue Launch button to the right of it.
- You can take the practice test as many times as you need to feel prepared for the actual exam.

CAN I CLAIM FOR PDU AFTER attending the training?
Yes, you will receive your PDU's according to the information provided by Scaled Agile at the following link: https://support.scaledagile.com/s/article/How-Can-I-Report-my-PDU-s-on-the-PMI-website and 15 SEU's (category C).
